Nigerian teenager wins educational awards in UK

A Nigerian teenager Amirah Akpan has triumphed winning the Educational Innovation of the Year at the second annual Global Youth Awards in UK.
The awards which recognises young people in cities around the world for their community work awarded the Queen for her approach towards changing education.
The winners were decided by a panel of judges and revealed at an awards ceremony in London at The Jetty Greenwich peninsula.
“I am delighted to have been presented with this award” said Amirah. “Education is a huge part of Miss Teen Africa and my campaign and i’m so pleased that this has been recognised and celebrated.”
The teenager who also won the title of Miss Teen Africa last year launched her campaign called 1000Books earlier at the Nigeria High Commission in London in the presence of dignitaries of the Nigerian community.
